How to use this tool
- Choose images and enter a maximum width and height in pixels.
- Choose an output format, quality and optional maximum KB target.
- Run the tool and check the actual output dimensions and byte size.
When it helps
Resizing reduces the number of pixels; compression reduces the space used to store them. They are different controls. The image fits within the width and height you enter while keeping its proportions, without enlarging a smaller image. An optional maximum KB target lowers quality further where the chosen format supports it. The result reports the real file size rather than promising an exact number for every picture.
A practical example
Fit a 4000-pixel photograph inside 1200 by 1200 pixels, then try a modest JPEG quality for an email attachment.
Before you share the result
Very small limits may be impossible at the selected dimensions. In that case, reduce the dimensions or choose JPEG/WebP and try again. Fine text can become unreadable at low quality. PNG compression here is limited by the browser encoder. KB means 1,000 bytes.
Keep a separate copy of the source file. Check the downloaded result in the application your recipient will use, especially page order, small text and important numbers. Conversion is not a guarantee that a portal will accept a document.
Questions about resize & compress images
Will it stretch my image?
No. The image fits within the bounds while preserving its aspect ratio.
Can it always reach my KB target?
No. If it cannot, it reports the problem instead of disguising a larger output as success.
Are my files sent to your server?
The processing code runs in this browser. Input files and generated results are not uploaded by the tool. Visiting the page still makes ordinary requests for site assets, and the hosting server may record those requests. Read the tool privacy explanation.
