Redact a screenshot

Support screenshots can expose email addresses, tokens, account numbers or other private information. This tool paints opaque black rectangles into a fresh image, so the selected original pixels are not retained in the exported image. It uses solid coverage instead of blur, because blur can leave clues about the hidden content. The original stays on your device and is not overwritten.

A practical example

Before sending a support screenshot, cover the email address and access token, then inspect the downloaded image at full size.

Nothing is detected automatically. Check the whole screenshot, including notifications, tabs, address bars and repeated details. Rectangles only cover the regions you mark. A newly encoded PNG is produced without deliberately copying the original metadata; visible identifying details still require your attention.

Keep a separate copy of the source file. Check the downloaded result in the application your recipient will use, especially page order, small text and important numbers. Conversion is not a guarantee that a portal will accept a document.

Does undo restore pixels in the downloaded file?

No. Undo only edits your current working selection; the exported file contains the covered pixels.

Will the tool find secrets for me?

No. It is a manual redaction tool and requires a careful review.

Are my files sent to your server?

The processing code runs in this browser. Input files and generated results are not uploaded by the tool. Visiting the page still makes ordinary requests for site assets, and the hosting server may record those requests. Read the tool privacy explanation.
