PDF to Excel

PDF pages do not contain spreadsheet cells in the same way an XLSX file does. This tool estimates rows and columns from the position of extracted text. It works best for simple, consistently aligned material. The resulting spreadsheet is a starting point for cleaning and checking data. Values are written as text so a string beginning with an equals sign does not become an active spreadsheet formula.

A practical example

Extract a small typed inventory table, compare the first and last rows, then check every total before using it.

Merged cells, multiline headings, multiple tables and scanned pages can produce imperfect columns. Numbers and dates may need deliberate conversion in your spreadsheet app. Do not use the output for financial decisions without reconciling it to the source. Scans require OCR first.

Keep a separate copy of the source file. Check the downloaded result in the application your recipient will use, especially page order, small text and important numbers. Conversion is not a guarantee that a portal will accept a document.

Does it preserve formulas?

PDFs usually contain displayed values, not spreadsheet formulas. Output cells are plain text.

Can it guarantee table accuracy?

No. Column reconstruction is heuristic and requires review.

Are my files sent to your server?

The processing code runs in this browser. Input files and generated results are not uploaded by the tool. Visiting the page still makes ordinary requests for site assets, and the hosting server may record those requests. Read the tool privacy explanation.
