    How to use this tool

    When it helps

    Image-heavy scans often contain more detail than an email attachment needs. This compressor renders the pages and creates a new PDF using compressed page images. Lower scale reduces pixel dimensions; lower quality uses more JPEG compression. Both can reduce the size, but they also affect readability. The tool reports when the new file is not smaller instead of presenting a larger result as successful compression.

    A practical example

    Try a medium-quality copy of a photographic scan for email, then zoom in on the smallest text before sending.

    Before you share the result

    This is lossy raster compression. It removes selectable text, editable forms, links and digital signatures from the working copy. It is unsuitable for archival or legally signed documents. Small text-only PDFs may grow when rasterized, and no target file size can be guaranteed.

    Keep a separate copy of the source file. Check the downloaded result in the application your recipient will use, especially page order, small text and important numbers. Conversion is not a guarantee that a portal will accept a document.

    Will text remain searchable?

    No. This compression mode makes image pages. Retain your original or use OCR on the copy.

    Can you promise a file below 100 KB?

    No. Page count and content set practical limits; a very small target can make text unreadable.

    Are my files sent to your server?

    The processing code runs in this browser. Input files and generated results are not uploaded by the tool. Visiting the page still makes ordinary requests for site assets, and the hosting server may record those requests. Read the tool privacy explanation.
